Isoetes engelmannii^[2] er tegund af álftalaukum^[3] sem var lýst af Addison Brown. Hún er algengasta tegund ættkvíslarinnar í austurhluta Norður-Ameríku. Þar er hún norður til Ontario, suður til Flórída og vestur til Arkansas og Missouri.^[4]^[5]
