Meconopsis pulchella er blásól ættuð frá Kína.^[2]^[3] Hún blómstrar stórum fjólubláum blómum upp úr hvirfingu hærðra, lensulaga grænna blaða. Hún er einblómga (vex í nokkur ár og deyr svo eftir blómgun eins og tvíærar jurtir).^[4] Hún verður allt að 18 sm há.
