Alfreð Clausen syngur er 45-snúninga hljómplata gefin út af Íslenzkum tónum árið 1955. Á henni flytur Alfreð Clausen tvö lög með hljómsveit Carl Billich og tvö lög með hljómsveit Josef Felzmann. We hereby present Alfreð Clausen, Iceland's favorite male vocalist singing four Icelandic ballads.

Alfreð Clausen is born in Reykjavík, the capital of lceland. He started to sing as a youngster at local places saturday evenings, a few years later he started singing duo with another singer, and they travelled quite a lot around the island, and people liked them, then Clausen got married, and quit singing for more than five years.

Carl Billich a well known orchestra leader has shows weekly over the lcelandic Broadcasting System, and he asked Alfreð Clausen to sing on his show, he sang, and two days later he was signed by Íslenzkir tónar, The lcelandic Record Co., and since then he has had more than 20 records and three albums for the company. His records have been sold in more than 13.000 ex. that would equal to the sale of 25.000.000 records in U. S. A. and the sale of his records it still growing.

Brúnaljósin brúnu (Brown Eyes) it a slow ballad, words and music by Jenni Jónsson, Sólarlag í Reykjavík (Sunset in Reykjavík) is a beautiful ballad by the same composer and Alfreð Clausen it backed up by choir and the orchestra conducted by Carl Billich, both these tunes are made exclusively for Alfreð Clausen.

On the B side you hear Lindin hvíslar a rhythm number by Thordur Halldórsson and Minning a slow ballad by Guðmundur Jóhannsson both tunes are backed up with the orchestra of Josef Felzmann.
