No Icelandic gramophone record has found its way to so many parts of the world as the first record made by the Savanna Trio, "Folk Songs from Iceland". It contains twelve Icelandic folk songs and ballads, some of them almost 400 years old, which led to overseas tours for the Savanna Trio throughout Europe and America where they rendered the old Icelandic songs to grateful and enthusiastic audiences.

This new record presents the Savanna Trio in another highly successful programme of Icelandic folk songs and airs to Icelandic ballads. For the benefit of the many overseas tourists who visit Iceland and wish to take back with them a souvenir or two of something truly Icelandic, all the words are printed on the inside of the sleeve. There are also some notes in English on their subject matter. This second record by the Savanna Trio, "More Folk Songs from Iceland", will be received with as much enthusiasm and acclaim as their first record. The Savanna Trio consists of three young men: Thorir Baldursson, who has arranged all the music, Björn Björnsson and Troels Bendtsen. They began singing together when they were still at school, making their debut in publich at the Annual Festival of the Commercial College of Iceland eight years ago. They soon became professional entertainers who were in great demand, appearing in many parts of the world. Most of the time they have been accompanied on the bass by Gunnar Sigurdsson, who assists them in most of the songs on this record.
