Brautarholt golf club[breyta | breyta frumkóða]

Brautarholt golf club (www. gbr.is) is located in Reykjavik, Iceland. The course is well known for the dramatic landscape by the Atlantic sea and the big greens and layout of the fairways. The location is in north of Reykjavik city about 20 minutes drive from the city center.

The club was established in year 2012 when the 9 holes was opened and 2017 the course was expanded to 12 hole course. The layout design of the fairways was done by Icelander Edwin Roald but on-site design was by American Michael Kelly. The golf is popular sport in Iceland. Most of the golf courses is in south-west part of Iceland where the capital city Reykjavik and international airport Keflavik is.

The golf season in Iceland is from April to October depending on weather. Because of position of Iceland the golfers can play almost all summer to Midnight but because of Midnight sun golfers can play golf 24 hour´s from mid June to mid July. There are 70 golf courses in Iceland and the population is around 350.000 people.
