New Orleans Pelicans er bandarískt körfuknattleikslið sem leikur í NBA deildinni.
Félagið var stofnuð sem New Orleans Hornets á tímabilinu 2002–03 þegar George Shinn, þá eigandi Charlotte Hornets, flutti liðið til New Orleans. Vegna tjónsins sem fellibylurinn Katrina olli árið 2005 flutti liðið tímabundið til Oklahoma City, þar sem það eyddi tveimur tímabilum sem New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets áður en það sneri aftur til New Orleans fyrir tímabilið 2007–08.
Árið 2013 tilkynnti félagið að það myndu breyta nafni sínu í New Orleans Pelicans[1] eftir tímabilið 2012–13. Síðan 2014 hefur NBA formlega litið á að New Orleans sé nýtt lið sem byrjaði að spila á NBA tímabilinu 2002–03 og að saga þess fyrir þann tíma tilheyri Charlotte Hornets sem áður hét Charlotte Bobcats.[2][3]
