English: Gaston statue. Location: Boulevard Pachéco / Rue des Sables, Brussels. If you descend the stairs, you arrive to the Centre belge de la bande dessinée, or Museum of the BD. Gaston is a comic strip created in 1957 by the Belgian cartoonist André Franquin in the comic strip magazine, Spirou. The series focuses on the every-day life of Gaston Lagaffe, a lazy and accident-prone (his surname means "the blunder") office junior. Deutsch: Gaston Statue. nl: André Franquin (Etterbeek, 3 januari 1924 - Saint-Laurent-du-Var, 5 januari 1997) was een Belgische striptekenaar, vooral bekend voor zijn reeks Guust Flater. Daarnaast was hij medeauteur van de serie Marsupilami en Robbedoes en Kwabbernoot.
